Citation, Name & Badge Use Policy

Version 1.0Effective 1 November 2026

In short: you may quote and reuse our rankings freely if you credit us and name the edition. Institutions may state their rank factually. The RankingLab name, logo and badges are protected, need our permission, and are always free.

Licence for our content

Unless stated otherwise, RankingLab text and ranking data are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, share and adapt them for any purpose, including commercial purposes, as long as you give appropriate credit, link to the licence, and indicate if changes were made.

Some material on our site comes from third parties and keeps its own licence. See the Data Sources & Use of Existing Rankings Policy.

The CC BY 4.0 licence does not cover the RankingLab name, logo, badges or other brand marks. Their use is governed by the rules below.

How to cite a ranking

Rankings change between editions, so always include the edition. A citation should include:

  • The ranking name.
  • The edition number, for example 2027.1.
  • The date you accessed it.
  • The URL of the ranking page.

Example:

RankingLab. Top 50 MBA Programs for the AI Era, edition 2027.1. Accessed 15 March 2027. https://rankinglab.org/rankings/

When you reproduce data, please note any changes you made, such as filtering or rounding.

How institutions may refer to their rank

Ranked institutions are welcome to mention their result, as long as the statement is accurate and verifiable. A statement should:

  • Name the specific ranking and edition, for example "ranked 12th in the RankingLab Top 50 MBA Programs for the AI Era, edition 2027.1".
  • Link to the ranking page.
  • Refer to the current edition, or clearly state the edition if referring to an earlier one.

Institutions must not:

  • Imply that RankingLab endorses, accredits or recommends the institution or any program.
  • Describe a rank as accreditation or recognition.
  • Round or reframe results in a misleading way, for example turning a rank of 23 into "top 20".
  • Combine RankingLab results with other rankings in a way that suggests a joint or official result.
  • Present an outdated edition as current.

The RankingLab name and logo identify our work. You may use the name in plain text to refer to us and our rankings accurately. Use of the logo or any stylized version of the name requires our prior written permission. You must not use our name or logo in a way that suggests a partnership, sponsorship or endorsement that does not exist.

Badges

RankingLab may offer digital badges that ranked institutions can display.

  • Badges are free. They are never sold, and no fee, donation or service is required to obtain one.
  • Badges are issued only on request and only to institutions included in the relevant ranking and edition.
  • Each badge states the ranking name and edition and links to the ranking page.
  • Badges may not be altered, recolored, resized in a misleading way, or combined with other marks.
  • A badge must be removed when it no longer reflects a current result, unless it clearly shows a past edition.

Anyone offering to sell a "RankingLab badge" or ranking position is not acting for us. Please report it to hi@rankinglab.org.

Misuse and revocation

If we find that our name, logo, badge or results are used in a misleading way, we will ask for the use to be corrected or removed. We may revoke permission to use a badge or logo at any time in case of misuse. Repeated or serious misuse may be noted in our edition records.

Requests

Requests for permission to use the logo, or for a badge, can be sent to hi@rankinglab.org.
